SUS316 | Austenitic Stainless Steel

Overview & Features

SUS316 is a steel grade with increased nickel and added molybdenum to SUS304, a typical austenitic stainless steel.
These chemical components adjustment provides better corrosion resistance than SUS304 to various mediums, including seawater.
This grade is relatively less commonly circulated among general-purpose stainless steels, making it a less readily available material, but we can supply it in foils, special dimensions, and small lots.

Magnetism

It is non-magnetic in the solution heat-treated state, but becomes weakly magnetic when processed.

The table below shows approximate values of mechanical properties for annealed finish and full hardened finish.
We can manufacture products in the desired hardness (finish) between annealed finish and full hardened finish, but some finishes may not be available depending on the plate thickness, so please contact us first. *For ultra-thin foil, soft materials such as annealed or 2B finish may not be applicable due to concerns about defects (folding, wrinkling, etc.).

High Corrosion Resistance Stainless Steels

This is a steel grade in which the nickel content of SUS 304, a representative austenitic stainless steel grade, is increased and molybdenum is added to further improve corrosion resistance.

Stainless Steels Foils (Under t0.10mm)

We offer not only thin stainless steel foils, but also propose the appropriate steel grade and temper depending on specific application and use requirements, such as strength, workablility, magnetism, and corrosion resistance.
