SUS430 | Ferritic Stainless Steel

Overview & Features

SUS430 is a widely used typical ferritic stainless steel material with very good availability in the market. It is always magnetic due to the formation of a stable ferrite phase.
It is inexpensive because it does not contain nickel and is used in a wide range of applications.
It contains more than 16% Chromium, which gives it better corrosion resistance than 13Cr stainless steels, and it is easy to process because it does not occur process-induced transformation like austenitic stainless steel.
Unlike martensitic stainless steel, this grade does not become hard after heat treatment, but it has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than martensitic stainless steel.

We can manufacture according to your desired hardness between annealed to full hardened as shown in the table below.
Some finishes may not be available depending on the thickness of the sheet, so please consult with us first.
*For ultra-thin foil, soft materials such as annealed or BA finish may not be applicable due to concerns about defects (folding, wrinkling, etc.).

Stainless Steels

Stainless steel is an alloy of iron (Fe) with at least 10.5% chromium (Cr) and is used in a wide range of applications because it has good properties in terms of corrosion resistance, strength, workability, and heat resistance.
