[note 1]"M" at the end of JIS steel grade symbol means steel grade corresponding to JIS G3311 Cold rolled special steel strip, and M may be abbreviated in some cases.

S50C is a steel grade that can be quenched.
The general quenching condition is [Water cooling at 800~860℃ ].
After holding for tens of seconds to several minutes depending on sizes, shapes, required properties, and quenching method, cooling is performed.
Water cooling is harder to quench, but due to the risk of quenching distortion and quench cracking, oil cooling may be used in some cases.
Please select tempering temperature according to required hardness and toughness by referencing quenching and tempering curve.(Quenching and tempering curve of S60C is below for reference purposes. )
We manufacture carbon steel (SC material) and carbon tool steel (SK material) that conform to "JIS G 3311 Cold Rolled Special Steel Strip" and "JIS G 4802 Cold Rolled Steel Strip for Springs", as well as our own composition-adjusted steel grades for special applications.
