The mechanical properties (typical values) of M1 in each finish are shown in the table below.
M1is a steel grade that can be quenched.
The general quenching condition is [Oil cooling at 790~850℃(Water Cooling at 760~820℃ ) ].
After holding for tens of seconds to several minutes depending on sizes, shapes, required properties, and quenching method, cooling is performed.
Water cooling is harder to quench, but due to the risk of quenching distortion and quench cracking, oil cooling may be used in some cases.
Please select tempering temperature according to required hardness and toughness by referencing quenching and tempering curve.
General steel made under normal manufacturing conditions inevitably contain some non-metallic inclusions during its steelmaking process, which can sometimes be a problem in applications where high reliability is required.
M1 and M2 are high-cleanliness steels equivalent to SK4, in which a special refining process is added to the conventional steelmaking process to reduce inclusions. Although not as good as ESR steels, they are particularly suitable for applications where life and fatigue properties are important.
Our original steel grade, a material lined up for textile machinery parts.
We manufacture carbon steel (SC material) and carbon tool steel (SK material) that conform to "JIS G 3311 Cold Rolled Special Steel Strip" and "JIS G 4802 Cold Rolled Steel Strip for Springs", as well as our own composition-adjusted steel grades for special applications.
