Product overview

TDS‑1 is a “High Functional Ferrite Stainless Steel” with good properties of “Strength”,
“Corrosion resistance”, and “Magnetism”.

Compared with SUS430, TDS-1 has higher magnetic flux density and lower coercive force. Therefore the properties of magnitizable, degauss, and magnetic shielding are good.

 

Features

■ Electromagnetic Stainless Steel

It can be used as an electromagnetic stainless steel by magnetic annealing.

 

■ The good corrosion resistance

TDS-1 has a better corrosion resistance than that of SUS430.

 

■ Stabilize the price

The biggest advantage of TDS‑1 is the stable cost. The content of Ni is only 1% of all composition.
Therefore the cost is not affected by the fluctuation in Ni price.

 

■ The resistance same as other materials

The conductivity is nearly the same as that of 42 Ni, in spite of it has half thermal expansion coefficient of 42 Ni. The cost may be halved.

 

■ VA proposals

TDS‑1 can be replaced from 42Ni, silicon steel, SUY, and Permalloy, etc.

Advantages

■ Cost reduction by the change from 42 alloys

The coefficient of thermal expansion of TDS-1(11.3×10-6/K) is about half that of 42 alloys(6.8×10-6/K).

The content of Ni is only 1% of all composition. Therefore the cost is not affected by the fluctuation in Ni price.

Tokkin can provide micron-level customization of thickness

 

 

■ Made-to-order product that can be manufactured in small lots

We can manufacture standard lots weighing 300 kg,

and are also happy to consider smaller lots upon consultation.

(Requests for small-lot orders will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.)

 

■ Ultrathin foils

We can manufacture ultra thin sheets of 0.010 to 0.099 mm.

 

■ Ability to adjust materials to desired hardness

We make products to order, and can adjust hardness as required.

 

■ Select your surface finish

By changing the roll used in the rolling process, we can offer a bright or dull finish.

If required we can also provide a hairline finish (outsourced).
